Nolvadex, containing an information leaflet, is a popular anti-estrogen medication. However, its use in pregnancy is not well studied. One study has shown that it may reduce the risk of miscarriage in women who are breastfeeding. This study aims to investigate the effect of nolvadex on the risk of miscarriage in pregnant women using breastfeeding.
METHOD
A retrospective study was carried out to assess the effect of nolvadex on the risk of miscarriage among mothers who are breastfeeding and who are not breastfeeding. This study was carried out from January 2013 to June 2015.
A total of 1037 mothers who were breastfeeding and who were not breastfeeding were included in the study. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of University of Gdansk. The data were collected during a routine clinical examination and during the lactation period. Each mother was asked to take a daily breast-milk drink, with water. The mothers were informed about the study, and they were asked to fill out a questionnaire about their breastfeeding. Then, the mothers were asked to provide their breast-milk drink. The mothers were encouraged to stop breastfeeding until they were able to return to their regular schedule of breastfeeding. The mothers who were not breastfeeding also took breast-milk with milk. The mothers who were breastfeeding also provided their breast-milk drink and provided the mother’s breast-milk drink.
The main outcome was the rate of miscarriage. The rate of miscarriage was significantly higher for the mothers who were not breastfeeding. This result is consistent with previous studies. A lower rate of miscarriage was observed in the breastfeeding group, but not in the breastfeeding group with breastfeeding. The increase in miscarriage in the breastfeeding group was due to the increase in lactation-related stress. The rate of miscarriage was significantly higher in the breastfeeding group than in the breastfeeding group without breastfeeding. The results of this study suggest that the use of breastfeeding with milk may be a possible alternative method of reducing the miscarriage in breastfeeding.
RESULTS
Of these, 547 (43.6%) were excluded from the study because of their breastfeeding status. One hundred and six (9.1%) of the excluded mothers were diagnosed with breastfeeding. The mean age of the mothers was 29.8 (SD ± 13.5) years and the mean weight of the mothers was 53.8 (SD ± 25.3) kg. The mean duration of breastfeeding was 9.4 (SD ± 5.5) months and the mean number of days before the last breast-milk drink was 8.3 (SD ± 4.5) days. A significant increase in the rate of miscarriage was noted among the breastfeeding group with breastfeeding. The rate of miscarriage in the breastfeeding group was due to the increase in lactation-related stress.
DISCUSSION
The use of breastfeeding with milk may be associated with a lower rate of miscarriage. This is consistent with the results of previous studies. A higher rate of miscarriage was observed among the breastfeeding group. However, the increase in miscarriage was not due to the increase in lactation-related stress. The increase in lactation-related stress may be due to the increase in breastfeeding. It has been shown that lactation-related stress may play a significant role in the occurrence of miscarriage. In addition, the increase in breastfeeding may be a direct result of the increase in lactation-related stress. It has been shown that the use of breastfeeding with milk may be a possible alternative method of reducing the miscarriage in breastfeeding.
However, the increase in miscarriage in the breastfeeding group was due to the increase in lactation-related stress. It has been shown that the increase in breastfeeding may be due to the increase in lactation-related stress.
